Banner made from silk paintings inspired by Nigg Stone In the village of Nigg children were encouraged to examine their local Pictish stone and create their own interpretations on paper with Ruth Black.
These designs were then used to create original paintings on silk.

The Nigg Stone is decorated with snakes, hunting and biblical scenes.

The image on the left is of the completed banner and below you can look at the individual paintings it is made up of. They include Pictish beasts, knots and Celtic style capital letters.
